Problem Set G is posted and is due Wednesday, 18 April. If you have not done so already, read Chapter 9 and Chapter 10.

Problem Set F is posted and is due Wednesday, 13 April.

Read Chapter 6, Sections 1 and 2. Read the third section of that chapter up to, but not including, the mean value theorem. You can then start on Chapter 8.

Problem Set E is posted and is due Wednesday, 30 March.

We have worked through chapter 4 and are currently on chapter 5, sections 1 and 2 - the only sections of that chapter we will cover. You should also work through the following problems as practice:

  • Chapter 4: Exercises 2, 3, 9, 10
  • Chapter 5: Exercises 1, 2, 4, 5, 6

You should also read chapter 3.

Problem set C is posted and is due 7 February.

You can also start reading sections 2.2 and 2.3. We will start working on this starting Monday.

The syllabus has been posted. So has problem set A, which is due Wednesday, 19 January.

I am hoping that people will have the text by the second week of classes.

You should be reading chapter 1 of Bak and Newman. The sections of concern at this moment are sections 1, 2 and 4. Problem set B has been posted and a due date of 26 January.
